Free wedding cake tasting every Saturday at the Medford Yummykake location!
We make available our top gourmet flavors and traditional white cake.
All the cake tiers sit on top of one another with no space in between. You may choose to elevate the cake with a stand or have it sit directly on the table.
A tip! Large tables make cakes look smaller.
Another tip! When setting up your cake take into consideration the background for picture taking.
White pillars or columns separate cake tiers. (We are experts at wedding cake construction so there is no need to fear that if you choose a tall cake it will fall over. Our pillars are 1/2 inches in diameter and will easily support a six tier cake.)
1) For a floating look choose a 1" height.
2) To place flowers in between tiers, choose a 3" height as pictured to the left.
3) For maximum height, choose 5" spacing for larger floral arrangements or ornaments such as the "grape cake" shown here.
A tip! Increasing the height of the pillars , makes a small cake appear bigger.
Tiers are supported by individual stands varying in height to create a cascading look.We have a variety of clear acrylic stands available to rent. They may be decorated with ivy or fabric.
A tip! This presentation is the easiest for cake cutting. No tiers to disassemble, just remove from stand and begin to serve.
For three or more cake tiers you may choose to alternate stacking and spacing. The diagram to the left shows the top two tiers spaced by pillars and the bottom two stacked. The example on the right illustrates the top tiers stacked and the bottom tiers spaced by pillars.
The Cake Presentation
There are four basic cake presentations.
